this was an assignment for school, where we had to deal with architecture/a group of people/modes of transportation. i chose medieval russian / renaissance italy / turn-of-the-century chicago. the settings are fictional though.

all done with a staedtler pen and tria markers, and edited/composed together in photoshop.

Wow these are absolutely beautiful! I love your colour schemes, the compositions are a delicious feast, and your style all together is simple yet captures all the necessary detail!!! I just cant get enough of your work, I cant. I too am trying to become an animator, so i would really appreciate it if you could critique anything of my work or even give a few tips for coming up with ideas or getting through art block(which i have more often than i would like :/ ) anything would probably be very helpful. So I wish you best of luck on your goals ^^

thanks so much! i'm glad you like these pieces. looking back on this, i think i should make more sequential art pieces now :] as for tips on getting through art block.. gosh, if i had any, i would have applied them to myself :] i'm finding it harder and harder to find motivation lately although i have breakthroughs every now and then. what has helped for me is to just keep going and just make something even if i don't feel like it; i always feel proud and happy with my art looking back on it, and every piece brings you one step forward.

Mmmmm, awesome. You can do background really well. They are simple and clean, but still portrays the building/place well. I also like your choice of palette, its sunny and pleasant. zit has a very nice feeling. ^^
