here's some predictable HP fanart as a result of finishing HP6. it's hermione, ginny and fleur. this is pretty much how i picture them. whoever's in charge of casting for the HP films is a complete moron; i will say with confidence that daniel radcliffe gives some of the worst performances i have ever seen in my life. but ok. the books are still good so all hope is not lost ;D

I would tend to agree with you about HP. But truth be told, there has never been a book-based movie that has turned out better than the book. Not ever. I love Hermione in your drawing, but personally, they're all beautiful!
agreed! some movies have gotten pretty close though. but usually not the more fantasy type stories with strong characters.. there's just too much involved in bringing that kind of setting to life :]
I have been reading the comments and I love how you complain about how Hermione is too pretty in the movie, yet you made her absolutely gorgeous here. Oh Loish, you make me laugh. I agree that the girl who plays Ginny is a very stale actress though, she hardly does anything to really make the character.
And It's not like they could have just switched actors once the kids began to "not look the part". The audience would have been unhappy with the change, and it would have killed the series. I believe the movies were all very well done(with the exception of the 5th. Honestly it just sucked. Except for Luna of course), and ended with the perfect heart wrenching bang. I think the fact that we grew up with the books, and the actors gives it the perfect sentimental value, whether you believe they still suit the part or not.
Sorry to go off on a rant I just thought it was silly to complain about the casting so many years after they were cast, when in the beginning everyone was very happy with the little actors. Anyway, these are beautiful head shots, even though they were done a while ago. You're art has just always been beauteous.
thanks for the comment :] yeah i've kind of gotten over these complaints since posting this, i was very passionate about it when drawing this but i do realize the complications of casting young kids for a long series of films. i enjoyed the latest harry potter movies but i still can't help but feel disappointed with daniel radcliffe. it's nothing personal against him - he seems like a great/funny person and a very good actor, but somehow it just doesn't show in the movies. i feel like the main character, on which the whole series leans so heavily, is just so.. flat in his response to everything. i really miss depth and believability, even after moving past all of the other casting choices. even though i totally understand how that situation came to exist and realize the cast couldn't have been changed, this is always something that will kinda bug me. and you have a perfect point about hermione :b although i would have loved to see her keep the really bushy hair from the early films, it was such a big moment in the books when she managed to straighten it and the moment is kind of lost in the movie because her hair was already perfect...
