As distinctive as a modern day Charles Dana Gibson, but with a more impish twist -- a bit coy but confident.  Great stuff, wonderful gallery

The colours and pose/ expression almost make it look like a renaissance painting. I love how you render faces and hair ♥

I love her look, and I love the roses! But yes, it's a relief you draw your people with different styles and sizes. Not everyone is a skinny lady with tan skin, blonde hair, and a sharp jaw/chin (nothing wrong with that of course, but I love variety). Love this!

I like her soft jawline, which is a relief from the defined, chiselled jawlines that you see in so many animated heroes and heroines.

Has such a renaissance feel to it. She's tenderly drawn, in contrapposto with relaxed joints, and in a space with depth. You've captured the moment when she turns her head to look, her hair spins outward when she moves her head.

Love it. Would be great to see more artwork in this style. You could take it to new heights.

I remember you mentioned that your inspirations come from other artists that you deeply enjoy; this piece reminds me of a certain artist that I cannot recall. It's mostly the colors that give me deja vu. I do wonder why her body is 'washed-out' when the other elements of the picture (her head, her arm, the flowers) are in perfect contrast. I guess one could say you were trying to make the body glow, but that would mean lighting effects on the other elements. The color texturing in the arm matches the body and the skin on her face, but the seemingly inconsistency between the two are throwing me for a loop. It stands out a lot to my eye. Not a bad thing but a...peculiar thing.

Her face, though, seems to be a whole lot closer to 'realistic'. Well, except for her ear, but I don't mind. The proportions seem to be in line with the 'common' set of 'Caucasian' with the nose and lips having a more (my vocabulary is failing me) 'average' volume rather than 'exaggerated'. (What is with all the quotation marks?!)

I like how you have her shoulder cutting into the one flower. This makes the scene much more alive and treats the flower as an object rather than some precious fragile piece of work like other artists do.

A very good piece and a great departure from your recent works. (Of which I am happy to see.) Thanks again.

...

Cherubs! That's what I was thinking! I have seen that hand in cherub paintings and on paintings of Jesus Christ and Mother Mary. That's where you're getting them. (Or maybe I'm just reaching for straws.) :)
