fishy weather by loish fishy weather by loish
a sketch i started, which i intend to turn into a digital painting but probably won't get time to do so for a while. so here's a sort of b+w version!

site note: one thing that's so amazing about the cintiq i've been using since may is that it makes lineart SO MUCH MORE FUN to do. i used to hate doing lineart digitally. now i'm really loving it!

drawn in photoshop cs5 with a cintiq 24HD in about 4 hours. for more info on my artwork please visit [link]

haha you express such exuberance in the description of such a gloomy (but beautiful) picture! i agree completely. after throwing down the cash for a Cintiq22HD my poor old Intuos 2 hasn't gotten any love lately. don't have the heart to give it away though!

glad you're having fun with it!

Oooh, looks like it's going to be great! Cintiqs are awesome for digital work, aren't they? Mine is a ridiculously old model and I still love it. :D

so one shud not buy a regular Wacom ? i am going to buy one .so i thought for a beginner like me, wacom was best !

I think for any beginner, getting a standard wacom is the best plan! A cintiq is a gigantic investment so you need to be pretty committed before you buy such a thing :) and have the funds!

YES! Cintiqs have ruined me. I can't use a tablet anymore when I draw, it's just too frustrating trying to get nice lines.... Plus cintiqs make the process MUCH faster. But I've only got one at work :iconcryforeverplz:

I guess I should take the dive and save up for one...it would be nice for freelance.... But it's hard trying to talk myself into getting one with the current price.

Of course, your pictures make it a little easier ahahaha.

yeah, same here, i can't use normal tablets anymore without a ridiculously long adjustment period in which i feel like i have to re-learn how to draw from the ground up :/ which means i *never* work from home anymore b/c the cintiq is at my office on the other side of town!

Nice! Now I am FOR SURE saving for a cintiq cause lineart is the WORST with a regular wacom! I thought that maybe I was losing my drawing skills but it turns out I can do lineart perfectly fine with regular pencil and paper...

i know what you mean! before the cintiq, i was usually drawing my lineart with a pencil and paper and scanning it into photoshop. anything to avoid the agony of drawing the lineart in photoshop with my intuos!

i think because the movement is directly on the screen, it feels more natural for me to do and results in less wobblyness than with my tablet :]

I'm guessing the cintiq is enjoyable and thus worth getting then? I guess its just a little bit of a shame that its so expensive, but then again that's understandable I suppose.
Nice work though ;) Very moody.
