some stuff i'm doing for school, basically some sort of hideously carried away concept art type thing. lineart and sketch done in photoshop 7 using a tablet, colored on opencanvas 1.1, and further edited in photoshop. textures from [link]

fish bowl by `loish is one of my favorite pieces on Deviant Art. The lines are simple yet elegant, the color is explosive yet harmonious, and the mood is quiet yet enlivening. I immediately feel happier when I look at it, even for a quick glance, though I'd rather stare and explore the beautiful intricacies. The curtain is really flapping, the fan is really whirling, the fish is really swimming; the picture comes alive! And the icing on the cake is that delicious note of turquoise reflected light on the floor! (Suggested by =AdamHunterPeck and Featured by `jgfeller)

I love the perspective you have on this one, makes it seem larger then life even though its simply a girl a window and a fish it gives this real impression of importance... at least to me and I'm dd like that. Great pic!

That’s great tablet work on the lineart. Don’t know how you can do freehand line work in PS and make it look neat.
